Original Note:

There are plenty of studies proving that, when spending time with their humans, domesticated animals produce many of the same chemicals and hormones in their brains that humans do when we feel love. There's no reason to believe they do not feel love. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/jul/16/do-our-pets-ever-really-love-us-or-do-they-just-stick-around-for-the-food
