Covid escaping from a lab is fundamentally different from it being bioengineered. Physiological evidence strongly suggests that Covid was not bioengineered, and there were no precursors to Covid-19 found in any research done at the Wuhan Institute of Virology: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cell.2021.08.017
