Unrealized gains (and losses) are not fixed assets, and exist on paper until ‘realized’ (sold/traded). There is manipulation that occurs in the corporate press where they conflate unrealized gains as cash on hand, instead of explaining the difference to the avg person. https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/04/021204.asp
