Original Note:
Elections always take a very long time to count every single ballot, but statistical methods are used to call election results early when there is a clear winner, without all ballots being counted yet. The problem is that recent races have been too close to call early. https://apnews.com/article/why-election-results-take-time-4672e20d0aa14fe6ab6b102d1e8054df https://www.ap.org/about/our-role-in-elections/how-we-call-races
