Birdwatch Note

2025-06-23 12:26:04 UTC - MISINFORMED_OR_POTENTIALLY_MISLEADING

This is not an image of the nova. This is Vega (image has been flipped if look at the star patterns around it). Vega is about Mag 0. The nova is Mag 6. So image shows a star about 250x brighter than the nova. The nova at Mag 6.1 is only just visible to eye in a very dark sky. https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/vega-the-star-at-the-center-of-everything/ https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/bright-nova-lights-up-lupus/

Tweet embedding is no longer reliably available, due to the platform's instability (in terms of both technology and policy). If the Tweet still exists, you can view it here: https://twitter.com/foo_bar/status/1936941518176026692

Please note, though, that you may need to have your own Twitter account to access that page. I am currently exploring options for archiving Tweet data in a post-API context.
