Participants

This data is not directly provided by Twitter. It is collated by using the participantId, noteAuthorParticipantId, and raterParticipantId from the supplied TSV files. These participant IDs each correspond to a specific Birdwatch user - though it is anonymized and not possible to associate with a specific Twitter user or any specific individual. (Twitter is able to perform this re-identification using its internal data, however). Using these anonymized IDs can be useful for assessing trends in Birdwatch participation.
