Per a Twitter employee working on the android code base, the Twitter app does approximately 20 request during initial startup, many of which are non-blocking: https://twitter.com/ericfrohnhoefer/status/1591968463849152513 There are other reasons for slowness, but it’s not “>1000 poorly batched RPCs”
