The latest data at our disposal has a figure of 56516 death in 2020 involving synthetic opioids other than methadone (primarily fentanyl), which is about 84 a day, off by a factor of 3.5 https://nida.nih.gov/research-topics/trends-statistics/overdose-death-rates
