This makes guns seem more dangerous than helpful but https://www.guns.com/news/2020/11/17/data-us-has-434-million-guns-20m-ars-150m-mags And https://www.statista.com/statistics/249803/number-of-homicides-by-firearm-in-the-united-states/ show that 434million guns are in the US with 13,600 murders with them at the most. Meaning at the highest guns are used for murder 0.003% of the time
