According to the Armed Forces Act 2006, the military is entitled, indeed obliged, to refuse illegal orders. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/52/notes/division/5/1/1/4/2 However in the UK, parliament is sovereign, and can with passage of new legislation, redefine what orders are and are not legal.
