<가디언>지 등은 일론 머스크가 의도적으로 자신의 트윗이 많이 노출되도록 알고리즘을 변경하였다고 보도한 바 있습니다. 게다가 트위터가 공개한 알고리즘 코드에서도 머스크의 트윗을 별도의 속성을 부여해 관리되고 있는 것이 확인되었습니다. 공개된 코드 저장소에서는 이 속성의 트윗을 보다 많이 노출하게 하는 코드는 확인되지 않으나, 그의 트윗이 특별 관리되고 있었던 것은 명백히 사실이며, 또한 프로덕션 환경의 코드에서 이를 부스트하는 데에 사용했을 가능성은 배제할 수 없습니다.
