Georgia law says that property left after an eviction and writ of possession is considered abandoned. If the landlord discarded it, it was up for grabs. GA Code § 44-7-55 (2020) c https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2020/title-44/chapter-7/article-3/section-44-7-55/ No reason for police to collect, haul, and destroy abandoned property using tax payer funds.
