Europeans have known how to bathe, wash & use soap for 1000s of years, before the Roman era. This knowledge did not vanish with the Romans. Medieval Europeans washed. bathed, used soap & loved bath houses. Nobody didn't bathe for years, it was not normal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visigothic_Kingdom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap#Roman_Empire https://fakehistoryhunter.net/2019/09/10/medieval-myths-bingo/#commonpeopleneverwash https://www.medievalists.net/2013/04/did-people-in-the-middle-ages-take-baths/ https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1731865574248948098 https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1724028943324373228 https://twitter.com/TimONeill007/status/1694816860674609562 https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1575538536949829632 https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1641588288887685126 https://www.famsf.org/artworks/the-bath

Tweet embedding is no longer reliably available, due to the platform's instability (in terms of both technology and policy). If the Tweet still exists, you can view it here: https://twitter.com/foo_bar/status/1818379297880465532

Please note, though, that you may need to have your own Twitter account to access that page. I am currently exploring options for archiving Tweet data in a post-API context.
