Birdwatch Note

2023-12-06 14:12:16 UTC - NOT_MISLEADING

Saying this is an eel without actually providing a sub species isn’t helpful, but also from the video it clear that it has scales and no dorsal/tail fin, which is unlike ocean eels. This is most likely a leaf-scaled sea snake or an Olive sea snake. Hard to tell exactly. https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/topics/wildlife/2021/07/a-guide-to-the-sea-snakes-of-australia/ https://www.diveplanit.com/marine-environment/biodiversity-2-eel/#:~:text=Biodiversity%20%232%20–%20eels%20are%20fish,mucous%20coating%20over%20their%20skin.
