Everything about this claim is incorrect. Europeans have been bathing, washing & using soap for 1000s of years, long before the Moors invaded Spain in 711AD. Didn't spread most hygiene related diseases, bathed more often than 5 times in their lives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visigothic_Kingdom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap#Roman_Empire https://fakehistoryhunter.net/2019/09/10/medieval-myths-bingo/ https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1641588288887685126 https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1575538536949829632 https://www.medievalists.net/2013/04/did-people-in-the-middle-ages-take-baths/ https://www.historyextra.com/period/medieval/did-medieval-people-take-baths-why-they-were-cleaner-than-we-think-middle-ages-hygiene-handwash-washing-cleanliness-coronavirus-plague-covid/ http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2019/08/did-people-in-medieval-times-really-not-bathe/

Tweet embedding is no longer reliably available, due to the platform's instability (in terms of both technology and policy). If the Tweet still exists, you can view it here: https://twitter.com/foo_bar/status/1727420428094951751
Please note, though, that you may need to have your own Twitter account to access that page. I am currently exploring options for archiving Tweet data in a post-API context.
