Europeans have known how to bathe, wash & use soap for thousands of years. Medieval Europeans washed daily, bathed at least weekly & loved bath houses. The plague killed people in Asia, middle east & Africa too, how it spread has little to do with personal hygiene. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visigothic_Kingdom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap#Roman_Empire https://fakehistoryhunter.net/2019/09/10/medieval-myths-bingo/ https://twitter.com/fakehistoryhunt/status/1575538536949829632 https://www.medievalists.net/2013/04/did-people-in-the-middle-ages-take-baths/ https://www.medievalists.net/2022/12/scientific-facts-black-death/

Tweet embedding is no longer reliably available, due to the platform's instability (in terms of both technology and policy). If the Tweet still exists, you can view it here: https://twitter.com/foo_bar/status/1697078391613055317

Please note, though, that you may need to have your own Twitter account to access that page. I am currently exploring options for archiving Tweet data in a post-API context.
