The default speed limit in Wales has changed from 30 MPH to 20 MPH on restricted roads i.e. roads where street lights are no further than 200 yards apart. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1984/27/section/82 This change is not “blanket” - many 30 MPH roads will stay as they are.
