It's unlikely that your passwords can be intercepted on public WiFi. Most websites use HTTPS, which encrypts all data before sending over the network. https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/ssl/why-is-http-not-secure/ Updated devices show warnings on unencrypted HTTP websites if you try to enter data.
