Original Note:
This claim is misleading. The Mayo Clinic has now removed the hydroxychloroquine page, and the URL redirects to another page stating explicitly that it is not recommended as a treatment for COVID-19. According to Mayo, it’s not a broadly recommended treatment. https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-false-hydroxychloroquine-covid-mayo-clinic-879901358147 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2023/09/28/post-misrepresents-mayo-clinic-hydroxychloroquine-stance-hcq-fact-check/70980831007/ https://checkyourfact.com/2023/09/25/fact-check-viral-post-mayo-clinic-quietly-admits-on-its-website-hydroxychloroquine-is-a-treatment-for-covid-19/ https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/2448909/mayo-clinic-removes-webpage-citing-hydroxychloroquine-as-covid-19-remedy/ https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/hydroxychloroquine-treatment-covid-19/art-20555331
