Original Note:

Although July was the hottest recorded month, a true consistant record wasn't kept until 1880. According to data from Ice cores gathered by scientists, the earths average temperature is much cooler than the historic average. We are still within an "Ice Age" https://www.history.com/topics/pre-history/ice-age https://climate.nasa.gov/faq/21/why-does-the-temperature-record-shown-on-your-vital-signs-page-begin-at-1880/#:~:text=The%20oldest%20continuous%20temperature%20record,temperatures%20for%20the%20entire%20planet. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_temperature_record
